We are grateful to Patrick Bolger (13) of Waterford who sent us the following report and some photos of the 2009 Gordon Bennett Run. Patrick Attended the event with his father Pat in their beautiful 1926 Essex Super 6.
Friday
* It started at 12 noon at Sheehy Motors, Naas, Co. Kildare where
we had lunch and then went for a visit to Mondello Park. Then,,at
4pm, it was off to The Mount Wolsley Hotel in Tullow, Co. Carlow.
At 7pm, there was a reception in the hotel.
Saturday
* The first cars left Mount Wolsley at 9.15am on Saturday morning
for a days motoring. Lunch was given to us at Leighlinbridge in
the Lord Bagnal Hotel. We decided to go back to Mount Wolsley
because it was cold and was raining. There was a reception at
7.00pm followed by prizegiving in Mount Wolsley.
Sunday
* There was then a short drive to Altamont Gardens where mid morning
refreshments were be provided by Carlow Tourism. Lunch was at
12.30pm in Mount Wolseley Hotel where music was provided.
* There were over 230 pre 1930 cars
