Many of you will be aware that there are a number of clubs dedicated to Rover cars. One of these is the Rover P6 owners club (www.p6roc.com) who have a Regional organiser by the name of Tony Hanby, based in Dunmanway, West Cork.
I had the pleasure several weeks back to visit Tony at his home and he spent several hours working on my Rover so that, in his words, 'it now goes like a V8 should'. . . . . . I can confirm that the car certainly does go better than before and is also positively frugal at 18mpg!.
Tony has just aquired a beautiful P6B which is fitted with a 3500 V8, originally from an SD1 coupled to a 5 speed manual box. The car is finished in Almond with a black leather interior and ebony vinyl roof. Here are a few snaps of the car.
During the day, I also met Jerome Kelly, who also lives near Dunmanway. He has an immaculate Rover P5B. This car is fitted with twin stainless steel exhaust systems, which give the car the sound of an american muscle car rather than the sedate cruiser. He is actually looking to replace the exhaust system with a standard exhaust - so anyone looking for a racing exhaust for their V8, please contact us. Here are a few snaps.
